Drip Automation Feasibility for Small Crop Area

Scenario:

At present more than 20% of the irrigated area in the most of the developing states is under drip Irrigation. While going through the details of the reason of availing drip system, we receive variety of answers from different farmers like

Most of the progressive farmers has understood the importance of the drip. But most of the farmers not able to run the system as per the recommended guidelines. They do not follow the operating time, Fertigation schedule & other maintenance due to above many problems.

Drip system with proper operation is aiming at field capacity condition around the root zone area of the crop. With Labour problems, night hour electricity problems & lack of knowledge; many farmers over irrigate the field for the electricity available period. This is creating the issue of water wastage with lesser productivity.

With the automation in drip area up to 5 acres, a real time based automation can be an idle system.

Here the Electric Solenoid Valves are used which divides the field in different parts on the basis of maximum available flow. Those valves are directly connected with the central controller with the help of electric cables or wireless connection is also possible with DC Solenoid valves for which DC controller is needed.

We can design the operation of each valve with fixed timing on the basis of type of crop & its age with the help of controller. The controller operates the valves on the basis of designed programs. Some controllers have the speciality to continue with the fixed timing after sudden shutting due to loadsheding, ensuring the Valve operation timing as per the designed program.
