- Proper Survey
- Proper Selection of Irrigation System
- Techno-commercial Design
- Accurate Installation
A) Proper Survey
The field parameters needs to be properly measured with the help of measuring tape or Field area measurement app for the smaller plots & with GPS for the bigger plots. The location & depth of Water source, the direction of the crop row (Direction of Inline to be laid), the land slope should be properly measured. The soil type should also needs to be mentioned. The existing pump details should be properly taken with the HP, discharge & designed Head. The available electricity hours also needs to be measured.
The future expansion planning should also be considered while making the survey.
B) Proper Selection of Irrigation System
The selection of the Irrigation system includes many factors like Soil type, the electricity hours available, the type of crop & its maximum water requirement.
C) Techno-commercial Design
The design of the drip system should be technically accurate & commercially viable. This is a very skillful job & needs the special software for the same. Kothari Irrigation is one of the few companies having the most advanced software for the designing of the drip system. Telescopic design of sub-main is one of the specialties of this software. The BOQ of the material is prepared after the finalization of the techno-commercial design & after finalization of the order the final section of Installation has been started.
D) Accurate Installation
This is a very skillful job & needs properly trained persons. Kothari Irrigation through their team of skillful ASTS staff involved in quality installation of Drip system projects. This installation person should check the design properly as per the plot size, direction accurately & should select proper location for Header Unit Installation & excavation mark-outs for Main & Sub-main line. Here Header unit needs to be installed on the plane horizontal platform. The use of standard equipment is needed for the execution of any Installation. The Installation of header unit should be properly done along with the use of safety valves at proper locations. The installation of main & sub-main pipes, holes on sub-main for the lateral openings, the installation of Control Valves, the installation of field air valves & flush valves should be properly done.
Precautions during 1st Trial- If there is pre-existing old main line after Filtration, make acid treatment/ Chlorination (as per need) before starting of trial
- Check all the Header & Field connections as per design
- Ensure that all control Valves, Flush Valves in the system are open
- Get the operating procedure as recommended by design engineer
- Start the pump & allow the water to move through main line & Sub-main end. Check the water quality
- After starting of clean water, Close the main line end & then Sub-main ends one by one
- Keep open the control Valve as per design recommendation by closing other control Valves
- Check the water pressure & dripper discharge at end lateral
- Let farmer understand all operating procedure & maintenance of the system.
