PVC Pipes

Date: 15-11-2021

History: Before the introduction of PVC pipe, irrigation & drinking water was mostly depend on Cement pipes & GI pipes including huge initial investment. Introduction of PVC has brought a great revolution in agriculture. The first PVC pipes was manufactured in Germany in 1932 & it took 1961 to introduce the pipe in India. Kothari Agritech PVC Pipes & Fitting Manufacturers Suppliers In India PVT Ltd has started its PVC manufacturing in 1997.

Types of PVC Pipes

Four basic types of PVC pipes includes

  • Unplastisized PVC (PVC-U),
  • Chlorinated PVC (PVC-C),
  • Molecularly oriented PVC (PVC-O),
  • High Impact PVC (PVC-Hi)
Unplastisized PVC pipes

No plasticizer added to PVC pipes hence called unplastisized & are recyclable & corrosion resistant PVC Pipes are light weight, sturdy, durable, chemical resistant, smooth (Low friction coff.) PVC is cheaper to buy, install, operate & maintain compared with all other pipes Most commonly used U-PVC Pipes & fittings for

Types of Unplastisized PVC pipes
  • Pipes for Potable & agriculture water supply (IS-4985),
  • Pipe potable water supply drinking water (UPVC Plumbing Pipes: ASTM -D1785)
  • Pipes for sewage and underground drainage (SWR Pipes-IS 13592)
  • UGDS Pipe (Under Ground Drainage System) IS: 15328
a) Pipes for Potable & agriculture water supply (IS-4985)

Those pipes have changed the face of agriculture in India. Advantages includes light weight, durable, sturdy, environment friendly, easy for fitting & very economical compared with earlier practices of Cement & GI Pipes. It is also having lowest friction coefficient compared with Cement & GI Pipes making them useful for long pipelines.

  • The Kothari PVC pipes having additional advantages of manufacturing of Pipes without human interference i.e. fully automatic PVC plant without human interference
  • This also ensures zero defect product
  • Maintaining the lowest % of Caco3 up to 8% (ensuring highest life) while the major competitor’s go above 10% (hampers the life of PVC Pipes)
  • Highest manufacturing capacity runs hand in hand with the deep rooted dealer network ensuring maximum number of satisfied customers
  • R & D work is a part & parcel in the manufacturing process which ensures maximum quality on continuous basis
b) Pipes for potable water supply drinking water (UPVC Plumbing Pipes: ASTM -D1785)

UPVC Pipes: used for conveyance of Potable (Drinking) water & other water (ASTM -D1785)

c) SWR Pipes (IS 13592) :

Used for conveyance of any waste (Drainage) water particularly in buildings etc. The pipes are joined with rubber ring ensuring leakage free joint. The above pipes has changed the face of plumbing industry ensuring public health & sanitization.

  • Are light weight which reduces the transportation, handling & installation cost&are corrosive resistance, almost maintenance free
  • The yellow rubber ring makes the joints 100% leak proof without the solvent
d) The UGDS Pipes (Under Ground Drainage Pipes) IS:15328

The UGDS pipes are used underground for the transportation of drainage & sewerage water. The pipes with rubber ring are used for jointing ensuring the leak free joint. Other than the above pipes in UPVC, the pipes mostly used in agriculture includes Column Pipes

Column Pipes:Those are high pressure sustaining pipes, usually used in bore wells. The strength of the pipes, joints made them useful for pulling the water from bore well from even the depth of 1000 feet. Those pipes have successfully replaced the costly GI pipes. The Kothari Column pipes having the features of
