Importance of Drippers

There is immense importance to the drippers in any drip system. We can call them the heart of the drip system. Day by day the water problem is becoming very critical & it is becoming very important to save each drop of water. Also in advance agriculture like in greenhouses & pulse irrigation, over irrigation needs to be strictly avoided.

Many types of drippers are used in drip system for online & Inline drip application. They vary on the basis of discharges & types of applications. Choosing the right dripper for the application The main types of drippers on the basis of their suitability of use are

NON-PC Drippers: Usually used for plain terrain having the slope less than 3%. Also used in less précised applications like agriculture on open land. Those drip system having Non-PC drippers are having the water use efficiency up to 90%. There are both Online & Inline drippers in NON-PC In line. For Kothari, NON-PC Online drippers are available with the discharges of 4, 8 & 14 LPH while NON-PC Inline drippers are available in the discharge range of 2 & 4 LPH.

PC Drippers: Usually used for undulating terrain having slope more than 3%. Regular PC drippers are used in field applications i.e. agriculture on open land. Those drip system having PC drippers are having the water use efficiency up to 95%. There are both Inline & Online drippers in PC applications. In PC there are more types with more prescribed applications in Inline. All PC Inline drippers having regulating labyrinth with injection molded body. The diaphragm with the help of cap made different designs of PC, PCND & PCAS Drippers.

  • PC Inline: As discussed earlier it is used in the general field drip installations with more than 3% undulating land. Having PC action within the pressure range of 0.8 to 3 Kg/Cm2. Kothari is having PC inline in K-Gol (Round drippers).
  • PCAS Inline: This Inline usually having the same features unlike PC In line with additional feature of Anti-Siphon action. This Inline is having PC action within the pressure range of 0.8 to 3.5 Kg/Cm2. After shutting off of the drip system, usually the physical particles or foreign particles got entered in dripper due to creation of vacuum due to reversal movement of water. In case of PCAS Inline, the dripper Cap get shut off after shutting down of pump avoiding the entry of foreign particles.
  • This Inline is usually recommended for sub-surface drip applications & in more precision applications unlike in greenhouses. Kothari is having PCAS Inline in 16mm & 20mm in K-Lin (Flat Inline) with the dripper discharge of 0.8, 1.2 & 1.6 LPH
  • PCND Inline: PCND is the most advanced Inline among all three PC In line with both PCAS & PCND action in single Inline. This Inline is having PC action within the pressure range of 0.8 to 3.5 Kg/Cm2.
  • Unique Features: After shutting off of the drip system, this dripper has anti-syphon action preventing the entry of foreign particles unlike in PCAS Inline dripper. This Inline also having no drain feature after shutting of drip system avoiding low head drainage.
Applications:
  • This makes the inline useful in sub-surface drip system.
  • Also useful in high value crop with undulating land where needs prescribed water application.
  • Also useful for all soil less media plantations & pulse Irrigation in which every drop is important.
  • Very useful for greenhouses (avoid low head drainage), nurseries & landscapes.

Kothari is having PCND Inline in 16mm & 20mm with dripper discharge of 0.8 LPH / 1.2 LPH / 1.6 LPH / 2.1 LPH / 3.4 LPH in K-Lin (Flat Dripper). Kothari is also having online drippers in PCND with 4 lph & 8 lph dripper discharges.
