Delivering Smart Irrigation for Sustainable Sugarcane Production.

Kothari Agritech Private Limited successfully executed an advanced subsurface drip irrigation project for Salima Sugar Limited, Malawi, Africa. Completed during 2018–19, the project covered 250 hectares with a total project value of ₹3.72 Crore.

The scope included the construction of a farm pond and pump house, installation and commissioning of the rising main, sub-surface drip irrigation system, wireless automation, an EC & pH-based fertigation system, and agronomy support. This integrated solution enabled precise water and nutrient management, improving overall irrigation efficiency.

The project achieved 40% water savings and 40% energy savings, while increasing sugarcane yield by 30%. With assured irrigation and uniform water distribution, the farm experienced higher agricultural productivity, improved operational efficiency, and increased profitability.
